Absolute Stays
Accessibility policy
Absolute Stays is built on inclusion, belonging, and respect — including welcoming guests with disabilities.
This policy applies to Absolute Stays homes, experiences, and related services. Guests and hosts are responsible for following the laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan and any other rules that apply to them. Where this policy provides greater protection and does not conflict with applicable law, we expect everyone to follow it.
Service animals and emotional support animals
A service animal is generally a dog individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability. A service animal is not a pet. Guests on Absolute Stays can generally be accompanied by a service animal during a stay or experience, even when a listing has a “no pets” rule.
An emotional support animal provides support that helps a person manage the symptoms or effects of a disability. Unlike a service animal, it does not need to be trained to perform a specific task. Unless applicable law requires otherwise, emotional support animals are generally treated under a host’s ordinary pet rules (including any pet fees).
Questions a host may ask
- “Do you require your animal because of a disability?” Hosts may not ask the guest to describe the disability.
- “What work or task has the animal been trained to perform?” Hosts may not ask the animal to demonstrate the work or task.
Guests are not required to provide documentation, and hosts should not request it. Guests do not have to disclose a service animal when booking, but may choose to share this before check-in to avoid confusion.
Stays with a service animal
Because of a service animal, hosts may not refuse a reservation, charge pet or related cleaning fees, or apply different house rules — unless a lawful Absolute-approved exemption applies.
Guests must keep the service animal under control, housebroken, not left alone without host approval, and out of areas the host has marked off-limits to the guest. In shared spaces, the animal should generally be harnessed, leashed, or otherwise safely tethered.
Emotional support animals
Unless law requires otherwise, hosts may apply ordinary pet acceptance and fee rules to emotional support animals. Where law or this policy requires accommodation, protections similar to service animals apply.
Additional reasonable accommodations
Guests with accessibility needs may request reasonable adjustments before a stay. Hosts may propose a reasonable alternative, but should not refuse a specific, timely, and reasonable request without engaging. Requests that create a significant safety risk, require major structural change, impose undue burden, or break the law may be declined.
If someone does not follow this policy
Absolute Stays may take steps up to and including removing a host or guest from Absolute Stays when policies are not followed.
