What to know about cleaning fees
A cleaning line is for the turnover you actually pay — supplies, laundry, a person. It is not a second nightly rate.

What the line is for
Guests see cleaning as its own row at checkout. Use it when there is a real turnover: a person you pay, linen you wash, chemistry you buy. Do not use it to make the nightly floor look smaller than the house.
The cleaning amount sits in the stay subtotal with nights and extras. The guest programme fee is 15% of that whole subtotal. The fee is added for the guest. You still receive the cleaning figure you listed, in AZN, with the stay payout — it is not skimmed to pay Absolute.
When a separate fee helps
A modest fee that matches a real cleaner in the village is readable. Guests can see why a courtyard house after a family week costs something to turn. If the number is larger than a night, many will leave the page. That is a pricing problem, not a “guest quality” problem.
A two-night stay in a house you clean yourself often looks cleaner with a small fee or with the cost folded into the floor. A week-long stay can carry a clearer turnover line because the work is obvious.
When to fold it into the night
If you only host occasional weekends and the wash is a morning of your own time, a separate line can look like a surprise. Putting that cost in the nightly floor keeps checkout short. The guest still pays 15% on the stay subtotal either way.
Do not switch from “included” to a new cleaning line after someone has compared nights. Change the listing, then sell new dates.
A high fee makes the review stricter
If they paid a cleaning line, they will look at the bathroom they were promised. The house must be finished the afternoon before they arrive. The fee does not buy you a late tidy while they wait in the yard.
- Beds made, bathroom usable, kitchen empty of the last stay’s food.
- The same standard on a Tuesday as on a Novruz weekend.
- A note if the well water needs boiling — that is not “unclean”, but it must be said.
What cleaning is not
Deep stains, smoke and pet damage you did not agree to are an AbsoluteCover file — not a surprise invoice at the door. AbsoluteCover is always included and free for you. Do not invent a second cleaning bill in the thread.
Do not invent a cleaning fee to raise the price after a guest has compared nights. That is the same night sold twice.
Keep the number honest
Pay the person you named. If your sister does the rooms, the fee can still be real — her time is work — but the house must match it. If you have no turnover cost, do not add a line because another listing has one.

Prepare your home for guests
Guests book what they see. The house must be ready the afternoon before they arrive — not after they knock. Check-in is 15:00 unless the listing says otherwise.
