Why we verify before they arrive

A verified guest is harder to hide behind a fake booking, a borrowed card, or a name that does not match the person who will sleep in the house. We check details such as legal name, address, government ID and other contact information before the reservation is fully confirmed. Online check-in then shows you who is coming.

Verification is one part of AbsoluteCover for hosts. It sits next to reservation screening. It does not replace house rules, a published guest maximum, or your judgement if someone at the door is not the person on the reservation.

SIMA in Azerbaijan

Guests who book from Azerbaijan complete SIMA — the state digital identity path we use here. That is how we confirm a local guest is who they say they are. They finish it before arrival, usually at checkout or in the window we give them after they request the stay.

If SIMA is not finished in time, the reservation is not confirmed and those dates can go back on the calendar. You should not hand over a code or meet at the gate for a booking that still says pending. The dashboard is the source, not a WhatsApp screenshot they send you.

Biometric verification otherwise

Guests who are not completing SIMA complete biometric verification: a live check against a government ID. That is the path for most foreign guests and for anyone we cannot route through SIMA. The same rule applies — they finish before they arrive, or the stay is not confirmed.

We may ask a guest to verify again if they change the legal name on the account, if we see a risk signal, or if the reservation looks unlike their earlier stays. That is our check, not a job we pass to you at the door.

What you see in the dashboard

The reservation names the booking guest and the people they added. You see a verified mark when identity is complete. You see the headcount they paid for. You do not see the raw ID scan, and you should not ask them to send a passport photo to your private number. Keep identity questions on Absolute Stays so the file is complete.

Share the door code or meeting point in the dashboard after the stay is confirmed — not on the public listing, not in a broadcast story. If you will be late, message the guest and Absolute in that same thread.

If names do not match

Do not hand over the keys. Do not open the gate for a group that says they are “friends of the guest” while the verified name is still in Baku or still on a plane. Message Absolute from the reservation. Reservation screening and verification work together; a party you let stay undocumented is not automatically covered.

If the booking guest is delayed and someone else arrives first, wait for us. Extra cousins at 23:00 are a message, not an extra bed you invent at the door. AbsoluteCover damage and liability assume the people we verified — not a house party you admitted off the file.

What verification is not

It is not a background check you can quote to a neighbour, and it is not a guarantee that a verified person will treat the house well. It is not travel insurance. It does not let you refuse the next booking because a name looks foreign. House rules and the published guest maximum still apply to everyone we verify.
