Same walk, every stay

A house that matches the photographs is not luck. It is a list you run when you are tired. Write the walk once — beds, drinking water if you promised it, the heater in winter, the pump, the path, the wifi note, the gas tap. Do that walk the afternoon before they arrive, not after the car is on the lane.

The day before

Walk the rooms. Restock paper, soap, and what the listing says is there. Test the heater and the hot water. Photograph the empty house once — useful if damage is claimed later. Put the house note where a person who has never been here will see it: network name, stove, who to call besides you, 112.

If a cleaner does the turnover, they still need hours, not a 14:00 squeeze. Close a night if 11:00 to 15:00 is not enough. That closed night is cheaper than a host cancel.

The afternoon they arrive

Check-in is 15:00 unless you sold an earlier hour. A working code or a person at the gate. A porch light if they come after dark. Ice or mud on the only path — fix it or write it before they book, not after they fall.

Message them on Absolute Stays if something changed that morning. Do not invent a second number in a private app for the same reservation.

The day they leave

11:00 unless you sold a late checkout. Check gas and taps. Put keys back. Strip the beds so laundry can start. Message Absolute only if something is broken, missing, or unsafe — not to narrate a normal turnover.

If the next guest is the same day, the routine is tighter, not optional. Same-day only if the rooms will be finished before they knock.

A fridge checklist is enough

You do not need a hotel cart. You need the same six lines every time, in the language you host in. Spare linen for a same-day turn. A metal bin for stove ash. A torch if the village drops power. Detectors you actually test when you walk.

Winter adds ice, the pump, and a second blanket. Summer adds the mangal rule and water on the plot. Peak season is the same walk, faster.

When the routine breaks

A wedding, a flood, a cleaner who does not come — close the night or write to Absolute the same day. Do not hope the guest will “understand” a house that is not ready. The hosting routine exists so the exception is rare. When it is not rare, the calendar is lying.
