Six ways to prepare for low season
Close honestly, or open at a floor you can live with. Midweek, weekly prices, heating, wifi, and a house that looks like winter — not a summer pool.

Decide the year in advance
Quiet months inland and weekday beach in winter will not fill themselves. Either close those nights because you will not host, or open them at a floor that still pays the cleaner and the pump. A calendar blocked “just in case” is how the house stays empty and search learns to skip you.
Finding bookings when it is slow sits next to this page. Use both: this one is the six changes; that one is the habit. Your floor stays in AZN. The guest still sees the 15% programme fee on the stay they book.
1–2. Midweek and a weekly line
If weekends already sell, open Tuesday to Thursday. A weekly price under the nightly floor fills a remote week and cuts turnovers. Count the cleans: fourteen nights with one visit is cheaper for you than seven two-night stays.
The guest still pays the 15% programme fee on the stay subtotal. A weekly number does not hide that and does not shrink cover.
3–4. Winter words and winter photographs
Write heating and hot water in winter words. A stove that needs a match. A path that ices. Wifi that drops after lunch if that is the village. Lead with the room they sleep in and the table at noon — not the August pool.
Absolute photographs the stay. You keep the first frame true for the month that is for sale. A brown garden and a warm kitchen book a January better than a lie about a swim.
5. Answer faster
There are fewer messages. Each one is a larger share of the month. Same-day replies matter more in February than in a full August. A listing that never answers looks empty even when the nights are open.
Keep the conversation on Absolute Stays. A private number for a “quiet season deal” is how the file and the cover disappear.
6. An extra you already run
A table, a walk, a transfer — only if you already do it. Do not invent a winter experience you will cancel. List it as an extra the guest can tick so it sits on the reservation.
Remote weeks also filter a washer, a kitchen, and a desk in daylight. If you cannot host a month, do not tick month-long on the calendar.
What not to do
Do not host-cancel a cheap week when a holiday weekend appears. Do not raise the floor to punish empty nights. Do not leave last summer’s first photograph. When search returns, the house has to look like the season guests will actually get.
