Preparing the house — and the guests — for emergencies

Print the three Absolute sheets, fill the blanks, hang the guest pages where they say. Walk the stay the afternoon before they arrive. In a real emergency they call 112 — not the inbox.

Three sheets to open and print

These files open in the browser. Chrome → Print → A4 → margins none → background graphics on. The four-page Emergency Guide is the FHN guest pack already used on Absolute Azerbaijan stays (gas, electricity, hygiene, and where each sheet hangs). The other two are blank host sheets: tick the house, then fill the door card.

Smoke, gas and carbon monoxide

Put a working smoke alarm on each floor and outside sleeping rooms. Put a gas / CO detector where you cook and anywhere a gas appliance runs. Do not block vents. Headache, nausea, dizziness, weakness — everyone outside, then 103 or 112. Never a grill, camp stove or oven used as a heater indoors.

A short maintenance walk

Before peak season and after any works: fresh batteries, extinguisher gauge in the green, first-aid kit restocked, water heater on a safe setting, chimneys and vents clear. Ice or mud on the only path — write it in the house note or fix it. Gas-off and breaker locations belong on the Emergency Guide card.

Fire

Extinguisher in the kitchen, away from the hob, easy to see. Keep the cooker clear. If the fire is small and the exit is open, pin, aim at the base, squeeze, sweep. If it is larger or smoky — leave, close the door, stairs not the lift, 101 or 112 from outside. No indoor smoking; no unattended candles or heaters.

Earthquakes, storms, winter

Azerbaijan shakes. In a quake: drop, cover, hold; no lift. After, 112 if someone is hurt or gas smells. For wind and flood, a torch, charged phones, and the meeting point on the card. Leave a porch light if they arrive after dark.

First aid and the people in the house

A kit that stays in the place you wrote on the card. Who is on the reservation is who we verified — extra cousins at 23:00 are a message. If you feel unsafe, 112 first, then Absolute’s 24-hour line. Safety at the stay and AbsoluteCover for hosts sit next to this page.
