Understanding your earnings

Each completed stay shows the nights, the extras, and the AZN that will be paid. The guest programme fee is not subtracted from your host rate. The reservation record is the ledger.

Read the reservation record

Each stay has a reservation record we send you: nights, the extras that were actually delivered, cleaning if we collected it, and the AZN that will be paid after the stay is completed.

The formula on /stays/resources/simplifying-stay-fees/ is how those lines are calculated. Keep the records. A screenshot from another platform is not your Absolute ledger.

How to read a reservation

Nightly minimum × nights, plus extras you actually delivered, minus nothing invented. Cleaning you listed is yours if we collected it. If we confirmed a higher host price in writing for those dates, that written host price is what we pay — not a guess from the guest total.

Read the guest nightly price separately from your floor. They can differ when smart pricing raised the guest night. Your line does not automatically follow the guest night up.

What the guest paid

Stay subtotal = guest nightly price × nights + cleaning + extras on that reservation. Programme fee = 15% × stay subtotal, unless the listing page showed a different fee. Guest pays = stay subtotal + programme fee. That 15% is Absolute’s programme fee. It is added for the guest. It is not subtracted from your floor.

An experience booked on its own uses the same 15% on that experience subtotal unless the page says otherwise. Gift cards apply before they confirm. None of that rewrites your host nights. How creators are paid is a separate programme — read the Absolute Creators terms.

What you receive

Your payout for the nights = your agreed nightly minimum × nights, or the written host price if we set one. Cleaning and extras you listed are paid to you as shown on the reservation. The guest total can be higher than the sum of those host lines. That gap is not a hidden host commission — it is the guest night above the floor, plus the programme fee.

Worked example, same as the fees page: floor 80 AZN, three nights, cleaning 40 AZN, no extras, guest night stays at the floor. Stay subtotal 280 AZN, fee 42 AZN, guest pays 322 AZN, you receive 280 AZN. If smart pricing lists the guest night at 92 AZN, the guest pays more — you still receive 280 AZN unless we confirmed a higher host price.

When money moves

Payouts are scheduled after the stay is completed, locally in AZN — not when someone clicks Book, and not in a foreign card settlement you chase. A guest who cancels under the listing terms may still leave you a night; the Cancellation policy says which nights remain.

Host cancellations can reverse a payout and hurt the listing. Cash at the door can cancel the reservation and drops AbsoluteCover. Friends book the same page so this record stays in one place.

Taxes and questions we already answer

Prices are in AZN. Absolute collects the guest payment and remits applicable taxes where the law requires us to. You remain responsible for tax on your own hosting income. This page is not a tax opinion.

Does the 15% come out of my payout? No. Does the fee apply to cleaning? Yes — the stay subtotal includes cleaning and extras on that reservation, unless the page says otherwise. When am I paid? After a completed stay. What if smart pricing raised the guest night? You still receive the floor unless we wrote a different host amount.
