Plan ahead for weather

Name the weather this house actually gets

A beach dacha takes Caspian wind that throws chairs and makes a balcony grill a hazard. A Şahdağ or high village house takes snow and a road that closes. A plot on a river takes spring flood. Almost every Absolute stay takes ice or mud on the path in winter. Write those sentences on the page before anyone pays — not after they fall.

Foreseeable weather you hid is a listing miss, sometimes AbsoluteCover. A pass that closed after they booked is a disruptive-event question. Use the right file.

Before the season

A torch, a second blanket, a way to boil water if the pump fails, a neighbour who can walk to the gate. Tell guests if a 4x4 is wiser than a city car in March. Leave a porch light if they arrive after dark. Test the heater before the first January night, not after they message that the room is ice.

Ice on the only path — salt, grit, or a written warning they see before they book. A detector and a window that opens belong in the same walk as the weather kit.

When it hits

Message the guest and Absolute the same day on the reservation. Do not insist they drive a closed pass. Do not tell them to “come anyway” through smoke or water. If the stay is impossible, it is a disruptive-event question — not a bad review you talk away.

Photograph the road or the plot. Close nights you cannot host. Hope is not a plan.

Numbers on the note

112 first in any emergency. 101 fire, 102 police, 103 ambulance, 104 gas. Then Absolute’s 24-hour line. The house note names those numbers in the languages you host in. The inbox is not an ambulance.

Carbon monoxide and dry-season fire have their own pages. Weather is wind, snow, flood and ice. Do not mix a grill indoors into a storm story.

Heat and shade

A summer house with no shade and no working water is also weather. Write it. A fan that exists belongs in the photograph. A “cool garden” that is a slab at noon is a review. Close nights if the pump is dead and you cannot fix it before 15:00.

Guests still pay the stay plus 15% on that subtotal. Weather does not shrink cover and does not move the stay off-platform.

After the weather

Walk the house before the next open night: path, roof, gas tap, pump, detectors. Change the first photograph if the season changed. Preparing the house for emergencies is the print-pack page — hang those sheets when it is quiet, so they are there when it is not.
