Why reviews matter

Reviews are the public record of whether the house matched the page. Guests read them before they pay. Hosts who never answer look empty.

The record before the card

A guest comparing three courtyards will open the one with a true first photograph and two sentences from people who slept there. “Amazing!!!” is noise. “Steep path, well water, kind host at the gate” is how the next family decides. You cannot buy that sentence. You can deserve it.

Absolute does not invent reviews. We do hide a score that the file shows was revenge after you reported damage or a broken rule — that guide sits next to this one. A host who never answers a review looks as empty as a host who never answers a message.

For the next guest

They are paying nights, cleaning if you charge it, extras, and the 15% programme fee. They want to know if the wifi drops after lunch, if January needs a second blanket, if the listing’s kitchen is a kettle. A review that names those things saves you a night of messages and saves them a wrong house.

Old reviews that mention a kitchen you no longer have belong in an answer and on a changed listing. A stale page is how “not as listed” starts.

For you

A pattern of five stars and same-day replies is how the house stays easy to find. A pattern of “not as listed” is how we open AbsoluteCover and review the page. One hard week is a conversation. A season of the same miss is a listing problem.

Using reviews to improve and how to handle a bad review have their own guides. Read them when a score lands, not a month later.

Reply

A short factual answer helps the next guest more than silence. Thank them for the path warning. Say the heater is fixed. Do not start a public fight. Do not offer cash off-platform to delete a line. That offer is how we look at the host.

Keep the conversation on Absolute Stays so the file matches the score.

What a review is not

It is not a weapon you owe them for a cheaper night. It is not a substitute for 112. It is not AbsoluteCover. Damage and a stay that was seriously not as listed go through us with photographs and timestamps — not through a second argument in the review box.

A low score that describes a real miss is not revenge. Fix the house.

After checkout

Guests write after they leave. You see the reservation, not a mystery name. If verification was SIMA or biometric, you already knew who slept there. The review is whether those nights matched the page you still have live.
