Absolute Stays
Privacy Policy
How Absolute Stays handles personal data for homestays, beach stays, experiences, hosting, and AbsoluteCover — under Azerbaijani law.
Last updated 19 September 2026.
Who is responsible
Absolute Stays is the guest marketplace of Absolute Azerbaijan LLC (Absolute Azerbaijan MMC), VÖEN 2304092521, with its public office at D.Aliyeva 156, Baku, AZ1000, Republic of Azerbaijan (“Absolute”, “we”, “us”). For personal data processed to operate Absolute Stays — homestays, beach stays, experiences, host tools, AbsoluteCover, gift cards, and related support — Absolute Azerbaijan LLC is the data controller.
Hotel software, online check-in products, managed-property services, and the company website outside /stays/ are covered by the Absolute Azerbaijan Privacy Policy. If both could apply, this Stays Privacy Policy governs data used to provide Absolute Stays.
What this policy covers
This policy explains how we collect, use, share, keep, and protect personal data when you browse, search, book, host, message, review, apply as a host or creator, or otherwise use Absolute Stays. It also covers data we process so hosts and guests can complete a stay or experience in Azerbaijan.
Hosts and guests are independent parties to the stay. We share with each side only what is needed to arrange, deliver, and support that booking. A host’s own handling of guest data after check-in (for example, a paper house manual) is the host’s responsibility, subject to Azerbaijani law.
Information we collect
Information you give us
Depending on how you use Absolute Stays, this may include:
- Identity and contact details — name, email, phone, date of birth, nationality, and government ID or SIMA verification data when we or the law require identity checks.
- Account and profile — language, saved stays, wishlists, host profile, payout details, and communications preferences.
- Booking details — dates, guest counts (including children and infants), pets, special requests, and add-ons such as transport or experiences.
- Payment information — billed through our payment partners; we do not store full card numbers on Absolute servers. Amounts are shown and charged in AZN unless we state otherwise.
- Listings and hosting — property descriptions, photos, house rules, calendars, pricing, amenities, and tax or payout information you submit as a host.
- Messages, reviews, and support tickets you send through Absolute Stays.
- Creator applications and programme data if you join Absolute Creators.
Information collected automatically
When you use the site we collect device and log data (IP address, browser, language, pages viewed, referring URL), approximate location derived from IP, cookies and similar technologies as described in the Cookie notice, and crash or performance diagnostics.
Information from others
We may receive data from the other party to a booking (host or guest), payment and identity providers (including SIMA and ePoint), maps and communications vendors, public sources used to verify a listing, and referrals from Absolute Creators when a guest uses a creator URL or checkout username.
How we use information
We use personal data to:
- Operate the marketplace — search, listing pages, booking, messaging, reviews, wishlists, and host tools.
- Confirm identity, prevent fraud, screen for safety risks, and meet legal obligations in Azerbaijan.
- Process payments, host payouts, refunds, chargebacks, gift cards, and creator earnings.
- Provide AbsoluteCover and AbsoluteCover for guests, including rebooking or refund help when a covered incident is confirmed.
- Send booking updates, service messages, and — where you allow — marketing about Absolute Stays. You can opt out of marketing at any time.
- Improve quality, localisation (English, Azerbaijani, Russian), accessibility, and product features.
- Enforce the Terms of Service, Cancellation policy, Accessibility policy, and other Stays policies, and to handle disputes.
Legal bases
We process personal data as required by the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Personal Data and other applicable Azerbaijani law. Where a European or UK privacy law also applies to a visitor, we rely on one or more of: performance of a contract (your booking or host agreement); legitimate interests (running a safe marketplace, preventing fraud, improving the product) balanced against your rights; consent (for optional cookies or marketing, where required); and legal obligation (tax, accounting, law-enforcement requests).
You may withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, without affecting prior lawful processing.
When we share information
We do not sell personal data. We share it only as needed to run Absolute Stays:
- With the host or guest on a confirmed or requested booking — typically names, profile photo if provided, trip dates, guest count, and messages. Exact street address is shared with the guest after confirmation, as described on the listing.
- With payment, identity, maps, email, SMS, cloud, and customer-support providers who process data on our instructions.
- With Absolute Azerbaijan teams who operate Direct Host listings, guest services, and support.
- With authorities when required by Azerbaijani law or to protect guests, hosts, or Absolute.
- In a merger, transfer of business, or similar corporate event, subject to this policy or successor notice.
- With creators, only attribution and programme data needed to calculate commissions — not a guest’s payment card or government ID.
If Absolute itself operates a stay (for example a Direct Host or managed listing), we may act as both platform and host for that booking. We still limit access to staff who need the data.
International transfers
Absolute Stays is operated from Azerbaijan. Some vendors (cloud hosting, email, analytics, payments) may process data in other countries. We use contracts and other safeguards appropriate to the transfer, and we only transfer what is needed to provide the service.
How long we keep data
We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and then for a limited period needed for bookings, AbsoluteCover claims, tax, accounting, dispute handling, and legal holds. Booking and invoice records are typically kept for the periods required under Azerbaijani accounting and tax rules. Support chats and verification records are kept only as long as needed for safety and fraud prevention, then deleted or irreversibly anonymised.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data — access controls, encryption in transit, and limited staff access. No online service is completely secure. Tell us at once at info@abaz.az if you believe an account or booking was accessed without permission.
Your rights
Subject to Azerbaijani personal-data law (and GDPR or UK GDPR where they apply), you may request to access, correct, delete, or restrict personal data we hold, object to certain processing, and receive a portable copy of data you provided. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent authority in Azerbaijan or, if applicable, in your country of residence.
To exercise these rights, email info@abaz.az with the subject “Absolute Stays privacy”. We may need to verify your identity (including via SIMA where that was used). We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Children
Absolute Stays accounts and bookings must be made by adults 18 years or older. Children and infants may stay as accompanying guests when the listing allows and an adult is responsible for them. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children to create an account. If you believe we have, contact info@abaz.az and we will delete it.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar storage in two groups. Necessary items keep Absolute Stays working: language, login, wishlists, search dates, booking drafts, and your cookie choice. These are required to provide the service and are not switched off in the notice.
Optional items help us understand how pages are used (analytics) only if you choose Accept all on the cookie notice. We do not use advertising or remarketing cookies today. You can change your choice at any time with Cookies in the footer, or by clearing site data in your browser.
The controller is Absolute Azerbaijan LLC in Baku. In Azerbaijan we process this data under the Law on Personal Data. Where GDPR or UK GDPR also applies, necessary cookies are used to provide the service and optional cookies rely on your consent, which you may withdraw.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “last updated” date will change, and we will provide additional notice if a change is material — for example by email or a notice on Absolute Stays. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
